wow...it's really been awhile, yet again.. I'm soooo bad in blogging...lol...

My hubby will deploy here in the next few days for 7 mths..arrgghh the horror...We're sad but we'll make do and make this deployment thru, one way or another. This is, after all, not our first nor will it be the last...

I haven't been making bows lately (nor blogging..lol) only because I was HOOKED! Crocheting is just addicting. I've come to realize, it's not about practice, practice...but it's about knowing how to read instructions..lol..Well, ok, practice is needed when it comes to crocheting an even tension from start to finish of ones project.. =) I'm making progress...slowly but surely... :D

I will end with this.. Psalm 91 (Ruth Ellen suggested this wonderful Chapter to me and I've always love the book of Psalm..)

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [a]

2 I will say [b] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."

3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the LORD, who is my refuge-

10 then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation."

Crocheted Mickey Mouse & cold, icy sleet weather! :D

aha, NO SCHOOL today. Icy road(s). VERY icy road(s). We watched the news around 6am this morning for school cancellation.

We're guessing tomorrow, either 1) school cancelled again, or 2) Delayed 2 hrs. (Meaning, kiddos don't hv to be at school until 10am due to the weather condition)

*Raining*/ falling / drizzling sleet!! Since winter started it has to be late Jan?!?..lol.. Am still crossing fingers for NO SNOW :D Altho, I don't think my children share that sentiment of no snow. They're dying to see/play snow. They even thought the sleet was snow..lol..Very cute!

I, personally don't think snow is cute unless it snows during the summer...pffffft! Wishful thinking me. =) I can take the heat but not the cold. :D

Showing pics I've taken:

What I've been up to today? Well, bought my first crochet pattern today. Mickey Mouse!!!! I love Mickey/Minnie Mouse. Ok, so I'm not a seasoned crocheter. I'm a beginner. If I can rate myself, I'd rate me at 0 (with 10 being the advanced crocheter). lol... Here's my 1st attempt:
See, told y'all...lol... I'm not good yet but I WILL get better. :D Practice, Practice, Practice.. =)

hmmm.... I think that's all for now. =) Take care y'all...

Felt Clippies

Howdy again... :D

What I've been up to? Nothin' much but crocheting flowers... Errr, no pics yet but emm, soon-ish...lol..

I finished one request this morning. Her DD wants something PINK for Valentine's Day. Last year, I made her DD felt clippies for Easter Day and a set of mouse (ya know, like the Mickey Mouse head..lol...Die-hard fan here) felt clippies. So, I'm guessing, the something PINK is something Heart shape felt clippies.

Hope the above is what the DD wants. Hmmm, need to email the mama...lol..Just to make sure.

Now, below are some other felt clippies I've made last year (just for the sake of sharing hence the un-edited pic) =) :

Been awhile... =)

So, it's been awhile I've posted. Goes to show I'm not an avid-daily blogger..lol...

Now, resolution/things to do this year (posting this late for sure)... :D Better late than never, right?

  • Learn to Crochet

There ya go. One thing to do/accomplish this year. I know the basics *thingy* but to actually MAKE something out of it...hmmmm...not very good. :D As in bowmaking, it takes practice, practice, practice..... I am practicing, daily (sorta). Will post pics soon-ish... =)

Have a wonderful day, y'all.. =)

First day of school was yesterday, 01/06/09. Not bad at all. Both DS & DD woke up and went to school in a good mood...yay! It WAS freezin' cold in the morning & throughout the day. Today's weather is much better. It suppose to get to the 70s...who knows. Weather is kinda crazy here and sometimes (if not most of the times) our local weather forecasts are not so accurate..lol... (That's why it's called FORECAST!) Wind is chilly for sure. Brrrrrrr...
I see alot of blog has put up their resolutions/to do list for the year 2009. I will also post mine when I get the chance.
DH's upcoming deployement is ticking nearer...*sighs*... Another deployment. But, I'll worry about that later.... What's important is today's worries. Tackle tomorrow or beyond when it's tomorrow or beyond. Hmmm..makes sense to me...lol..
This verse makes more sense than mine and it's my favourite, at any given time =) :
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Matthew 6:34.
Now, the *interesting & truthful* (I rcvd this in my bow group today and I just hv to post this on here) because, well : Just READ the below....

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome'; that will bring on a 'whatever').

(8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying sc*ew YOU!

(9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.
* Copy/Send this to the men you know to warn them about arguments they can
avoid if they remember the terminology. :D
